Many people like to watch sports, and those who are really into a particular sport will take part in it in a variety of ways, often involving their family and friends if they can. The excitement of the game causes an outburst of cheering, laughing, and sobbing during the pulse of competition, bad calls, and the suspenseful tension of evenly matched opponents. At their homes, some people host game night gatherings. Some people spend a lot of money and travel far to watch a game in person while others enjoy parties before and after.

On game day, cherished memories come to life, especially for those who have worn a uniform to play their preferred sport. By keeping tabs on particular players, fans can share in their hopes and victories as well as commiserate with them when those players’ dreams are dashed by scandal or injury. A family member of mine who has been involved in basketball for four generations is my friend. He has admitted to me that when he was younger, he became completely engrossed in the game of basketball and did not realize that he had a choice whether or not to participate. It continues to be a favorite of his. Additionally, he excelled in the game as a point guard for his college basketball team and the starting shooting guard for his high school team.

Since he was the family’s first-born child, my friend was made fun of for having to raise the next generation’s basketball stars. While my friend’s wife was first to become pregnant, he has two brothers who were also given that duty. Everyone in the family was abuzz about my friend and his wife because they turned down the doctor’s offers to reveal the gender of their unborn child in order to keep everyone in suspense. Many blue-colored gifts were sent in advance of the birth, presuming it to be a boy.

When my friend’s wife saw his infant being placed in her arms, she lit up. She then said something to her husband that would stick in his mind. She said, “I made a boo boo.” And he told me that she repeated it to him for the following two children, with Boo Boo 3 being the most recent and last member of their family. Their family has loved all three of those girls for many years. Additionally, they excel at basketball. Boo Boo 3 won a scholarship for college to play the game! I adore this tale; my friend comes from a blessed family, and the next generation will carry on the tradition of the family’s love of basketball. #TAG1writer
